"Content is King!" is the motto for the Internet. It's all about information. If your website provides unique, original content on your specific topic, then it's very likely that you'll be considered as a reliable source of information in your field.

To stand out from gazillions of other related websites, you should offer people original information that's helpful and interesting to read.

Your sentences should be easy to understand - unless it's your niche, don't insist that people have a Masters degree to read your website. Make it quick and easy for them to get your message.

And just like holding a conversation, nor do you want to stupify readers into a coma, or worse still, leave no impression at all. It's far easier to click away from a website than it is to excuse yourself from a droning dinner guest!
