5 Steps to Success

It’s easy to build a successful website very quickly = FALSE

Sure, getting a pretty website online can happen relatively quickly. But do you also want people to visit your website? Do you want to sell products or services (online)? Or perhaps you’d like to get more qualified visitors in your office or showroom? A well planned website is essential! To clarify the process, we’ve divided it into five steps:

Research into clients, competition, products and/or services

Just as with planning a business, a successful website needs good planning. Who are your customers, or who could become customers? How strong is the competition? Which search terms are important? How can the offered products or services be more easily found? By the way, did you know that the products/services that you offer also play a role in determining the layout (look-and-feel) of your website?

This phase requires of a lot of your time. We offer helpful tips so that you can find ways to present your products and services to your clients (and search engines) better.

Planning your (online) business

This phase determines what role your website can play in helping you to achieve your business goals. In other words, with the business plan in one hand, we can determine the content strategy for your website together. Which bits belong together? How much information is necessary? How should you present the products and services? What is the planned marketing mix? How will the search engine optimisation (SEO) methods be implemented?

Tips about the web design: to reduce your web design invoice, we recommend that you get a good idea of what you like and don’t like in a website. Which colours do you prefer? What sort of feel do you want your website to have? Do you want big and bold, or neat and tidy? The more detailed you are with your requests, the more quickly the design can be made … thereby saving you money!

Implementation of the website/business plan

We can start building your site once you’ve given us the details for the hosting package. We’ll design a great looking interface for your site and install WordPress (content management system) with the necessary contact form plugins. Clients usually send the page content by e-mail, with the photographs attached. We upload the information and add the photographs as agreed upon. By default we also install Google Analytics on the site. You can get access to these stats with your own (free) Google Account.

Besides the webmaster admin account, we also make another account for you so that you can access your CMS website online. On the dashboard, you’ll see an overview of the pages and can also make changes, if required. You’re welcome to read the training posts or ask for personal training (in Lelystad or via Skype), which is included in the larger web design packages.

This phase is the most fun … the realization of your (new) website ;-)

Marketing your business website

This phase takes the longest, because it actually never ends! We’ve listed some marketing tips on our site: see website promotion. With the larger web design packages, such as eBusiness and eCommerce, you receive personalised training on how to market your website using online/offline methods. We also give tips about getting links from other websites to your site. We also share some of the secrets behind running an effective pay-per-click campaign with Google Adwords.

Analysing your success

The last phase is also important. The market is continually changing, so you need to know how and when to make changes. Interpreting statistics from reports (like Google Analytics) allows you to make the necessary adjustments.

A successful website demands more time than you might have thought, but it certainly worth the investment!
