Using his photographs, we created a theme with a clean structure and even made a little Landrover icon for his buttons. Sticking to the 4×4 theme, we used field jargon for the menu names and have started him off with his first 10 posts. The reaction so far has already been amazing.

In April 2009 we migrated their website onto a content management website so that they can add their own photographs, update their special offers and most importantly, add new articles that tell their guests what is available at their lodge and in the area.

It was important that their website kept the same look and feel, so we refined the menus and their photographs.

A graphic designer had created a logo and basic design layout, and we combined this with one of our header photographs taken in a forest nearby us. The client, graphic designer and us are very pleased with the result.

This website has a photo gallery of the projects they have completed, a contact form and an updates page that they can use to provide tips and information to customers.

Since building this website, Ruud and Sandra have emigrated to Sweden, where they will be setting up their sanding business there. Once they’ve got the business registered and details sorted out, we’ll be replicating this website for them in Swedish. They’ll provide us with the translation

Sandra recommended us to Wouter at Passie voor Pellets, whose website we built shortly afterwards.

This website was created using a well-known Dutch e-commerce facility called mijnwinkel.nl.

The next phase is to include a photo gallery for some of the projects that they have installed, and perhaps include a web shop that gives people an idea of the baths, basins, showers, and accessories that are available.

South Africa born and raised, I was so inspired by their work, that we offered to build a pro-bono website for the non-profit organisation.

Working very closely with Janet, we created this website over a period of a few months. It has made a big difference to their organisation, as Janet can link to relevant pages in her email correspondence.

The next phase will be to move these static pages over onto a content management system, so that they will be able to add photographs and updates themselves.

The aim of the website  is tell potential clients about the bookkeeping and payroll services that Sandra Koning offers to small to medium businesses based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Her logo was created by a graphic designer, which we incorporated as part of the background to enhance the business identity. Having our own business, we could identify with her clients and the service she offers. So we took the photograph of our desk and added the slogan about wanting to run away from the books

The first Comma Projects website (commaprojectsint.com) is hosted on a server in America, and since 2006 when we first built it, Google and other search engine companies have started implementing local search. This means that local companies are given preference in the search results over international companies. As a result, Comma Projects gets a fair amount of visitors from the US, but not as many in South Africa.

So that they didn’t lose their existing traffic, we recommended creating a second website that was hosted in South Africa. This new website (cpint.co.za) has been set up on a content management system with an e-commerce facility, and is also being used for their marketing efforts.  

Both websites have got different content, which means they’re not considered as duplicate content, which could have a negative impact on their search results. We have linked up the first website to the second website, which has the web shop.
